L’UCOG Aquitaine organise également tous les ans une rencontre régionale, au plus près des professionnels de l’Aquitaine intéressés par les problématiques des patients âgés cancéreux.

L’UCOG Aquitaine propose deux types de formation validante pour tout professionnel intéressé par les problématiques oncogériatriques :

• Formation annuelle au CHU de Bordeaux : au sein de l’institut de formation en soins infirmiers (IFSI) de Xavier Arnozan à Pessac, le centre de formation permanente des personnels de santé (CFPPS) propose des formations continues à l’attention des personnels paramédicaux. Parmi ces formations, « La personne âgée atteinte de cancer : une prise en charge spécifique » existe depuis maintenant 10 ans et propose pendant deux jours une formation complète

L’UCOGIR Aquitaine :

• Stimule l’offre d’essai clinique dédiée aux patients âgés et augmente leur recrutement dans des essais, notamment sur les stratégies des traitements et l’usage des nouveaux médicaments
• Contribue, en lien avec les structures de recherche de la région, au développement d’études, notamment sur les mécanismes biologiques communs au vieillissement et à la cancérogénèse, et en sciences humaines et sociales
• Favorise des recherches issues de l’analyse de cohortes

• Structurer la plateforme pour être un interlocuteur national
• Réaliser des analyses complémentaires
• Animer une réflexion autour des spécificités méthodologiques ou d’analyse des essais en oncogériatrie
• Améliorer le recrutement des sujets âgés dans les essais cliniques en cours et à venir
• Initier de nouveaux projets
